Michelle graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelors and Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has over 25 years experience working with adults in the hospital, home health and sub-acute rehab settings. Michelle is certified in Vital Stim and her adult special interest is dysphagia and cognitive-communication deficits. Michelle is passionate about educational training with family and caregivers to support patients with neurological deficits including strokes, traumatic brain injury, Parkinsons, and dementia.
Michelle also has experience with pediatrics in the school and outpatient settings. Her pediatric special interest is pragmatics and social communication skills. She is very excited about the addition of hippotherapy at Shining Hope Farms, which uses the movement of the horse to help to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems and in turn promotes functional speech and language outcomes.
Her hobbies are hiking, travel, church activities and cooking. She also loves spending time and making memories with her children and grandchildren.
