Julie Clifford
Speech-Language Pathologist
Julie Clifford, MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed, compassionate pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with 9 years of experience in Illinois and North Carolina schools and clinics. With a BS in Psychology and a MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders, she holds ASHA certification and dual NC licensure (NCBOESLPA/NCDPI). Her diverse background spans preschool through high school, NICU/PICU feeding, and graduate clinical mentorship and supervision.
Specializing in speech sound disorders, AAC, social language, and stuttering, Julie blends her psychology roots with trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming practices. She looks past isolated symptoms to support the whole child, turning clinical plans into engaging, real-world successes that meet children exactly where they are developmentally.
Julie believes in coaching families rather than "fixing" children. "I provide the strategies, exposure, practice, and structure for parents and children to feel empowered," she shares. She prioritizes cross-provider collaboration and equips families with practical home activities centered around real, face-to-face connection.
Originally from the Midwest, Julie has lived in Mooresville for 6 years with her husband, two adult children, and their sweet dog. She loves cooking with local farmers' market finds, gardening, antiquing, and happily shares cooking and gardening advice with friends.
